Comedy ‘Katyusha’ to costar 3 Iran artists

New Iran offering ‘Katyusha’ in development is set to costar actors Arjang Amir-Fazli, Leila Otadi and Qasem Zare.

The comic movie directed by Iranian helmer Ali Atshani has selected these artists for the cast, a media report said on Wednesday.

Zare made his acting debut in 1989 with 'Burning Pines' and made a name for himself with 'The Glass Agency' (1997).

He has also appeared in 'Scent of Joseph' (1995), 'Shout' (1998), 'The Dance of the Devil' (2000), 'Swan Song' (2000), 'The Pastry Girl' (2001), 'My Father's Farm' (2003), 'A Place to Live' (2004), 'The Outcasts' (2006), 'The Child of Dust' (2007), 'The Snitch' (2008), 'Carnival of Death' (2008), 'Earth and Fire' (2010), 'The Straw Dogs' (2013).

Otadi has participated in various TV series, including 'Truth Revealed' (2004), 'Tears and Smiles' (2008), 'Blood Money' (2010) and 'The Wound' (2014).

She has also appeared in the movies ‘Willow Tree' (2004), 'Left-Handed' (2005), 'Invitation' (2008), 'Looking For Happiness' (2009), 'The Outcasts 3' (2010), 'Messed Up' (2011), ‘Tulip’ (2013) and 'The Straw Dogs' (2013).

She has begun reciting poems since she was 17 years-old, and published her first book in 2014 under the title of  'In Heaven There is No Crow, Nor Scarecrow', which is a collection of poetry, in both Persian and English languages. 

Amir-Fazli is known for his comedy roles and made his debut in 1993 with the comedy series ‘Nowruz 72’. 

He has also appeared in many movies, such as ‘Hello! Hello! I’m Joojoo’ (1994), ‘Sweet Jam’ (2001), ‘The Wedding Dinner’ (2005), ‘The Outcasts’ (2006), ‘Trial in the Street’ (2008) and  ‘Sour Lemon’ (2013).

His series performances include ‘Happy Hour’ (1994), Charlatan (2004), ‘Shams-ol-Emareh’ (2009), ‘Tabriz in Fog’ (2010) and ‘All My Family’ (2012).
